Structural or Articular Osteopathy
Regain the balance of your body and say goodbye to your pain

Introduction to structural or joint osteopathy
Structural Osteopathy is a manipulative manual therapy focused on the treatment of the musculoskeletal apparatus (bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue) restoring mobility and maintaining elasticity in all systems, thus reducing the pain usually caused by sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, physical overexertion, stress, etc.
What is structural osteopathy and how does it work?
Osteopathy is based on the interrelation of all body systems, so a condition in the spine at the musculoskeletal level will alter the proper functioning of viscera and organs. And vice versa.
What is structural osteopathy treatment?
Rhythmic techniques are also used, which are those aimed at soft tissues (muscles, tendons …) and joints: stretching, pumping, traction, joint mobilization and myofascial techniques.
What problems can structural osteopathy help me with?
- Muscle and bone pain such as contractures, low back pain, back pain, neck pain, hernias and protruding discs, whiplash, headaches, scoliosis, tendonitis, sprains.
- Psychosomatic disorders, stress gives an increase in muscular contracture at the cervical level.
- Hepatic disorders such as slow digestions that improve after manipulating the dorsal area.
- Menstrual disorders such as irregular and painful periods that are closely related to the lumbar area, so by manipulating this area, we will improve these menstrual symptoms.
- Respiratory disorders such as shortness of breath, asthma, recurrent constipation ... because treating the ribs and the thoracic spine improves the function of the lungs and bronchi.
- Digestive disorders such as stomach pain, poor digestion, constipation ... which improves by treating the neck, cervical and dorsal-lumbar area due to a nervous relationship.
- Circulatory or nervous disorders.
- Muscular stress. A tight muscle uses a large amount of energy and reduces its elasticity, something that makes it more prone to damage. The relief of this stiffness, in addition to ending the pain, favors the circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids, thus facilitating the transport of nutrients and oxygen and the elimination of waste.

Elisabeth Modalen
Professional and graduate; ROE (Spanish osteopathic register)
I am an osteopath with a bachelor degree in Osteopathy from the University of Oslo. I´m specialized in joint mobilization that is out of alignment, and spinal integration and alignment as all musculo-skeletal tissues dis-eased are interconnected; in this way I can relieve pain caused by inflammation and tensed muscles. I focus on building a positive relationship with my patients as I believe it will have an important impact on the outcome of the treatment.
