What is sports physiotherapy?

Sports physical therapy is the specialty that treats sports injuries and helps prevent them.

The priority of the sports physiotherapist in our center is the prevention of injuries. Although in most cases patients come to us after sports activity or competition with some type of injury, from muscle overloads or contractures, tendon injuries or tendinitis, through sprains and fiber breaks.

Functions of the sports physiotherapist:

1.- Recovery from sports injury and / or post-operative rehabilitation. As sports physiotherapists in this case we will help you recover from the injury much faster, so that you can return to sports activity as soon as possible.

2.- The prevention of sports injuries, that is, preparing our body to avoid injuring ourselves is one of the best options. Through tables and personalized therapeutic exercises that the sports physiotherapist will mark, and the athlete will perform between competitions, as well as a specific treatment that we will do pre-competition and post-competition.

3.- Recommendations to prevent sports injuries. Like the change of diet for example. We all know that food is basic in an athlete and more if you want to improve your performance or prevent injuries. Not only sports physiotherapy will help you, but what you eat as well.
